Robert Hawes is probably well
known to many UK collectors as he was once editor of 'Vintage Wireless' the journal of the
BVWS (British Vintage Wireless Society) he discontinued this role in 1996. |
|
In the opening section of
this book he describes the background and discoveries of Communication and Radio from
around 1879 onwards, covering receivers from when they were of 'Breadboard' construction
through to modern cabinet design. |
|
The book has 128 pages and
the last 75 are dedicated to really glorious colour photographs of radio receivers and
loudspeakers from the 1920's to the 1990's.There are approximately 250 colour
illustrations. |
|
The photographs are good to
the point that I have actually used them in the past to remake missing dials for some
receivers! |
